Driving day today and it was a relatively easy drive from Portland to Cannon Beach.  We left at noon and we’re set up at the Cannon Beach RV Park between 2 and 2:30.

No mishaps, no breakage this trip… woot!  woot!

Working-in-the-truckI finally got my “office” set up in the passenger seat but unfortunately the road was a bit too windy and bumpy to keep my head down to work for very long.

After getting set-up, we took the truck into Cannon Beach, which was less than a mile away.  I think it took longer to find a parking spot than it would have taken to walk!Steve---Cannon-BeachCarol---Cannon-Beach

What a lovely little town… definitely one of my favourite beach towns so far.  We also walked along the beach, taking the requisite photos of Haystack Rock and the amazing coast line.

Pelican-Brewing---Cannon-BeWe decided to take the truck “home” and ride our bikes back into town to have beer at the newly opened Pelican Brewing Company.

All-in-all, I’d have to rank this day as a solid 10 — no problems, lovely surprises, great relaxing day and good weather.

Tomorrow we have an exploring day.  We intend to head north in the morning, then home for lunch.  I’ll work for a few hours, then we’ll head to the beach for a picnic… we think 🙂

What we like:  really close to town, in the trees, a little bit of space between the rigs, indoor pool (although we likely won’t use it), good wi-fi, quite a few toilets, onsite diesel.

What we don’t like:  We’re in a spot which hasn’t yet been upgraded (but they intend to finish the upgrades this winter).  The TV reception is awful.
